An Easy, Free Toy

I completely ripped this off from the Kiddo's daycare.  But my fabric cabinet is hard to close lately, so anything that uses up some scraps is a must-do-project.

Have you ever seen a toddler sit and pull kleenexes out of a box and throw them in the air?  Same principle.

I cut my fabric scraps into strips, shooting for about 2 or 3 inches wide.  Then I sewed the ends together to make a big long strip.  While I suppose you could make this all hemmed edges and neat stitches, I think quick and dirty is the way to go here--close is absolutely good enough!

Once I had a nice big long ribbon, I stuffed it into an empty cheerios container.  (Can't think of the name of the specific product--they're like, little apple cinnamon rings that look like cheerio-flowers?)  The Kiddo hasn't quite gotten it yet--he likes to pull out 3 or 4 feet and then toss the whole thing to watch it flutter--but I'm confident that he will soon discover that is enough ribbon in there to make a really good mess if he wants to!
