A Scrappy Halloween Banner

While our old front porch isn't perfect, the bannister is fabulous for festooning with decorations.  And I love me some festooning!

Last year, I bought a cheap, paper "Happy Halloween" banner to drape across for October.  It was fine, but I had to toss it at the end of the season.  After a month out in the elements, it was in no shape to save.

This year, I decided to make a more permanent banner out of cloth generally, and out of scraps I had lying around more specifically.  The black square backing is from Moe's erstwhile "Hairy Pawter" cape.  The letters came from my cabinet of more brightly colored scraps.  And the blue piece from which it all is strung used to be a pillowcase.

As usual with my sewing, it's a bit sloppy, but it makes me happy.
