I used this recipe, which was very similar to all the other recipes I found, except that I used pre-made breadcrumbs rather than crackers. It worked like clockwork, except for
one a few little things.
When I brought the blossoms home I was careful to rinse them off inside and out--if you just open the top a little and let the water run in quickly they fill up like little water balloons, it's fun. Unfortunately, I was having so much fun blowing them up, that I didn't think to double check for critters.
Suffice to say, they tasted great (much like most fried vegetables do), but the three little ants that were in my first one suffered an absolutely medieval death. Yeck!
