This started as a bit of a franken-sweater. One of those where I had a few scraps of yarn left over from several other projects--not enough to do much with on their own, but I found myself thinking, "If I could just find a cute way to combine them...."
Enter the beautiful patterns of Tin Can Knits. (When I grow up, I want to go work at Tin Can Knits.) This one, called Raindrops, is the simplest sweater, with just the teensiest, easiest bit of lace at the top to keep it interesting. I made the 4-6 year size--for my tall girl with her long torso--and, while I was a little concerned about the fit straight-off-the-needles, once I blocked it, it was just exactly right.
She wants to wear it all the time and I want to let her. In fact, I'm tempted to make us both a matching pair for the fall. (How long will it be before she thinks that's not cool anymore? I'd best get on it, right?)
