I'm super excited about some of the craft posts I'm doing for Sparkle Stories this summer. It's always a fun place to be, but I've got some summer stuff coming up that's even more so than usual, so I wanted to link it up here, too.
First, these summer travel journals. I've been trying to hoard them for our trip later this summer, but they're so easy to make that I really just need to do a stack of them and stop being so stingy. Because I can never resist writing in a cute notebook, so why should I expect that of the kiddos, yes?
Second, these simple homemade pillowcases. As we've discussed, I can't really sew, so if I can make these, you can too! The pair of them took me about 45 minutes to cut out and put together.
I let the kids each pick their own fabric, and while I thought this might be more of a "cute for them, but really cute for me" project, I've been surprised at how much the kids ask for their special pillows.
Lisa says she makes up easy pillowcases like these as birthday gifts for her daughter's friends, which is brilliant. If you're doing that, make up a batch of this lavender and sweet orange sleepy spray to round out the gift. It smells amazing, and helps with all kinds of bedtime woes.
