Our main event this weekend was the annual birthday campout at our friends' teepee.
After Little Miss's successful camping excursion earlier this fall, we decided to stay the night this year.
(Well, we almost didn't, to tell the truth. Packing the car with the kids underfoot always disproportionately stresses me out. But we made it with just a few snippy words.)
I was glad we persevered.
From the kids' perspective, it was the best sleepover ever.
I'm not actually sure I ever did technically sleep, but I was cozy, nonetheless, all snuggled into a double sleeping bag with my babies.
And we woke up to the most magical, grey morning.
The perfect kind for eating breakfast around the campfire and going for a tromp in the woods.
Fall is my favorite. And birthday parties at teepees in the woods are pretty great, too.
