This is a story that has its roots in, "I made his sister a cardigan." SIbling rivalry is a tale as old as time, and we are not immune to the tit-for-tat.
"Okay," I told him as he lamented that I never make him anything, "I'll make you something with a gecko on it. What about this scarf?"
The Kid: "Yeah!!!"
Me: "Promise you'll wear it?"
The Kid: "I promise! Thank you mom, you're the best!"
Fast forward a month. Lots of stripes and a few gecko arms in between.
The Kid: "Do I really have to wear this stup...I mean, this scarf?"
Me (internal): !*&#*P(*Y$(*&@)(*)!(&T@)&*T!(*&@!!!!!!!!!!
Little Miss didn't want to wear her cardigan this morning either. That's a more temporary thing, but still.
No handknits for them for Christmas! I'm taking my wares to people who will be more appreciative.
