I was [insert string of happy adjectives and expletives] to be chosen to read in this year's Kansas City area Listen to Your Mother show, which is happening in Lawrence this weekend.
I'm doing a piece that even Sweet Husband hasn't read, and it's got me completely [insert big ball of complicated emotions].
It's weird, because it's not like I'm not used to getting up in front of people and talking about hard stuff. And it's not like I don't share personal stuff on this blog. But something about the combination of it being my own hard stuff and getting up and reading it in person has me a little more a dither than normal.
So, what I'm saying is, if you're local, you should come, if only to see if I can manage it without shaking myself to bits. And also to see my amazing cast-mates, because [insert big WOW].
As noted in the handy photo above, the show is this Sunday at 3 pm at Liberty Hall in Lawrence. Tickets are $15 in advance [you can get them at the Liberty Hall box office or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org] or $18 on the day. [If you go to the box office, you'll need cash but there's an ATM nearby.]
Bring your mama and make it an early Mother's Day date!
