Upon hearing Little Miss sing the Christmas carol (you know which one):
The Kid: "We need to get her a hippopotamus for Christmas!"
Upon being shown a video of a hippopotamus on the internets:
The Kid (dead serious, making a plan): "Well...the biggest problem is going to be where to keep it. They're quite a bit bigger than I thought."
Not one bit of his mama's over-drama for this one. Not one bit.
The Kid: "I'm going to go upstairs and watch the snow outside my bedroom window. *Sigh.* It always makes me cry."
In which the last lines of the song gives us the answer:
Little Miss: "But where did Frosty go?"
Me: "Over the hills of snow. But don't worry, he'll be back again someday."
Little Miss: "He'll be back again someday?"
Me (giving into the urge to sing finally): "He'll be back a-gain someday!"
Upon noticing that I apparently need some new "stockings" under the tree:
The Kid: "WOW! I CAN SEE YOUR TOE! We need to get you some new socks for Christmas!"
