And all of a sudden the Kid can draw. Not just scribbles that fill the page, but faces and dinosaurs and planes and maps.
I love these "explosions" that kids have. Like, where one day they know two words and the next day they can say fifty.
This happened a lot like that. One day he didn't care much for drawing and would only scribble. The next we can't tear him away and he's making up snippets of stories to go with his art.
If you had asked me, "How do kids learn?" six years ago, I would have assumed a slow, steady curve. I didn't understand these explosive leaps until they had happened to us several times.
I like watching him draw so intently. But is it bad that I keep stealing the art that I like and spiriting it away to my "keep forever" box?
