"I need to just finish this," I whined to Sweet Husband Saturday evening, gesturing towards the pile of knitted dragon limbs sitting in my lap waiting to be assembled.
He smiled and shook his head, "You always say that when you make toys. Why do you keep doing it?"
He's right. I always hate making toys when I'm in the thick of actually doing it.
But then they're done! And they have such unique character and charm. And there's such a "I Am ONE with every mother and father and craftsperson who ever sat down to delight a child" feeling.
Which is why I keep going back, occasionally, at least, masochistic as it may seem.
This particular toy is from the "Nordelph the Dragon" pattern. I was calling him "Norbert" (of Harry Potter fame), but then the Kid informed me that, since the intended recipient is female, Norbert is obviously a girl and needs a "girl name".
So, Norberta--because I'm creative like that--she is!
