First, this is one of those Pinterest-y things you can probably do on the fly with stuff you already have. You should click through to the link above for the full directions, but basically you need cornstarch, food coloring, baggies, vinegar and baking soda. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!
Second--to bastardize the packaging on most fireworks--shake the bags, then get away. Or, rather, throw them away from you and all other humans/beasts. These babies will explode quickly and with more force than you think.
Third, remember that vinegar + baking soda makes carbon dioxide. You know what mosquitoes love? Carbon dioxide. It was like lighting a beacon for them.
