So, I got on a little bit of a hat-knitting tear at the end of last week. One for everyone!
(Well, except me. But I'm thinking about mine still. Luxuriating in choosing a pattern. Etc.)
First up, for the Kid, a Clayoquot Toque from Tin Can. I made him a more plain hat last year and he lost it the very first day he wore it, so this year's hat had to be distinctive. This is only the second or third bit of colorwork I've ever attempted, but--as usual--the Tin Can Knits ladies made it completely fun.
And for the Little Miss, a Czarina from Taiga Hilliard. The sizing of this felt weird--I cast on for the "Teen" size, but then used the "Baby" measurement for length--but maybe Little Miss just has a big noggin? In any event, the end result is absolutely darling.
Last, but not least, a Lorne's hat--from the grand dame of knitting, Ms. Stephanie Pearl-McPhee--for Sweet Husband. I over-bought on the black Cascade 220 for my sweater so this seemed like a good way to use it up. Sweet Husband declared it nice looking and "not itchy" so we'll call it a win.
Anyone else dealing with a primal urge to knit warm hats?
