I'm not a tomboy, but I'm not a super girly-girl either. As such, the ferocity with which I have leapt into collecting tiny headbands for Little Miss has taken me by surprise.
With each new one I say I'm going to stop, but then it comes down to it and...it's hard to quit, ya know? This one, this one, this one, these....and let's not talk about my wish list. (Sailor's knot for summer, anyone?)
Last weekend, I at least made a few for myself. I'm not sure it actually saved money--Etsy sellers can buy supplies in bulk, after all--and my finishing wasn't as good. But, eh, it was fun.
The St. Paddy's Day one is just a ribbon with a few inches of elastic sewn to the back to make it stretch. Her little March Madness crown is some knit jersey (from an old t-shirt) cut into thin strips, then braided together with a seam in the back.
Viva la headbands!
