It started earlier this month, when I got side-swiped by a hurricane. It was two days of torrential rain, of constantly being cold and wet. I was trying to stay hydrated, but drinking cold water was just making me, well, frozen. So I started drinking hot herbal tea instead.
Then I wandered into a Teavanna and got a miracle mug that keeps tea warm for hours. And I haven't looked back since.
In a bit of serendipity, as all of that was happening, Stephinie asked if she could send me one of the new tea blends she's started making under her latest creative incarnation, Sweetbrier Herbs. She sent me a packet of her lemon hibiscus tea blend, and it's happily taken a place in my new tea habit rotation.
Even in hippy-hippy Lawrence, it's a little hard to find really good herbal tea--i.e. the stuff with no actual tea leaves mixed in--and Stephinie's blend is just that, really good. It's fruity, but not overpoweringly so, with a lovely hint of lemon. I like!
Stephinie also tucked in a tiny tub of her new "Super Salve". It has already doctored up one tiny red-from-a-cold nose this season, and I suspect more will be forthcoming.
Wanna try some? Stephinie is generously giving away a two ounce bag of tea and a small tin of salve to a My Bit of Earth reader. To enter, leave a comment below telling me what you do to stay warm. I'll pick a winner next Monday!
