IMG_9383Our Summer Bucket List is winding down, but we still have a few adventures to check off.  Last weekend, we carted out to the Kansas City Zoo with Sweet Husband's parents.

To the delight of the Kid and his adults, we were able to see most of the critters.  The polar bears are the zoo's current stars, but--even with a nice overcast day--they were a little warm to be doing much.  The Kid loved Leia the elephant, though, as well as the silly penguins.

And then there were the rides--trains, trams, sky cars, you name it.  And the fact that he got to legitimately shout the word "poop" in public when a zookeeper showed him some elephant....well, poop.

While I'm not normally a big fan of zoos, seeing the animals through my little monkey's eyes was darned good fun.  And the real apes were cute, too.  ;)
