Kitchen Afternoons

Pick an afternoon in our kitchen these days and you'll probably see a lot of this.

Basil being rinsed and made into pesto.

Tomatoes being roasted and frozen for sauce and soups.

And just about every other form of vegetation being pickled--thus far, cucumbers, peppers, and okra.

I'm still not getting quite as many of our own tomatoes as I'd like, but they're slowly coming around.  And, to the credit of our every-few-days squash bug torture sessions (I hop up and down on them until they're dead, Sweet Husband cuts them in half with garden shears), there is one little pumpkin getting started in our pumpkin patch.  Hopefully brothers and sisters will follow.
